Great list. Any favorite body washes or body cleansers? I never see too many reviews or recommendations on those (anywhere). Would love to see what you’re using. Your recommendations are always spot on.

Great question! For budget-friendly, I like Beecology’s peppermint/honey body wash and Deep Steep.

For luxury, I like Skin & Bones cleanser (has little jojoba beads in it!).

And of course, can’t go wrong with Dr. Bronner’s castile soap!

For bar soaps, I always go back to Osmia Organics. Hope this helps! (And I will update this with links very soon!)

I’m looking to try a nice face oil. What do you recommend for starters? I have oily/combo/acne prone skin. I’ve been looking at pai as it’s supposed to be good for acne scarring and for preventing breakouts. There are so many options out there I don’t know where to start!

    • http://www.kimberlyloc.com/ kimberlyloc

Sounds like your skin is very similar to mine. Some things to consider:

      What’s your budget?

What scents to you love / hate?

Will you be using this morning AND night or just morning / just night?

I use different oils during day / night and during different times of the month. I also rotate out seasonally (lighter for spring / summer, medium-weight for fall / winter).

      • Jillian

Hmmm… I think I’ll start with mostly at night and then try some during the day later as I don’t want them to be too heavy on my skin during the day. I’m planning on starter with more inexpensive oils to start out with then move on up depending on how my skin reacts (I’d rather find something I love that’s cheaper than fall immediately in love with something expensive!). I’m currently using the arcona line (switched over to completely natural stuff about a few months ago and decided to give them a shot) but I want to try an oil since I’m not in love with their moisturizer.

        • Jillian

Also, on another note I noticed you liked the osmia bar soap. You should definitely try out the arcona toner tea bar! Seriously love it and it makes my skin so soft! And I didn’t think id like it because it was a bar but I was wrong! They’re kinda pricey but if you email them they’ll send you a sampler pack(which is what I did and really fell in love with that cleanser!)

      • Jillian

Also I’m okay with scents as long as they’re not too overpowering and perfumey smelling as I’m super sensitive to perfumes.

  • http://dreamandscheme.wordpress.com Dream & Scheme

These are all great recommendations. Of the acne treatments, which would you most recommend for combination skin? Also, I’d love to see your favorite makeup and some product suggestions for hyperpigmentation and scarring.

  • Tamar

    Going green/non-toxic is so hard…
Can you please please please recommende a foundation (not full cover) that will suit my dull combination skin (really- it is both dry and oily… And acne prone) and will not make me breakout?
    Many thanks!!!
