beauty secrets | 9 post-visia complexion analysis skin care product recommendations

After my Visia Complexion Analysis inside the Whole Body department at Whole Foods, I walked away with a handful of samples and a printout of some fabulous skin care product recommendations to help improve my skin’s overall appearance and health.

Here is what my skincare consultant, a licensed aesthetician, recommended I consider adding to my beauty routine:

My 9 Skin Care Product Recommendations

MyChelle Perfect C Serum

I’m extremely excited about the prospects of this vitamin C serum. Serums, as you know, are usually very expensive because they contain highly concentrated levels of the active ingredient you are after — in this case, 17% vitamin C, which is almost prescription strength.

This is the product I will most likely go back for within the coming weeks, and who knows…perhaps there will be a sale on MyChelle products?

Pangea Organics Skincare Discovery Kit Normal/Combination Skin

I went home with samples of the Egyptian Calendula & Blood Orange Facial Cleanser, the Egyptian Geranium with Adzuki Bean & Cranberry Facial Scrub and the Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry Facial Mask from this starter kit. I tested each and have to say that I’m smitten with all of them and am trying to figure out which one to buy first!

The great thing about a starter kit, though, is that I can test each product several times before committing to purchasing the full sizes…and I can easily mix and match if I decide I don’t like certain products within the kit.

Egyptian Calendula & Blood Orange Facial Cleanser

I absolutely love the creamy texture and soft scent of the facial cleanser. I think this will be a definite addition to my beauty booty this winter.

Egyptian Geranium with Adzuki Bean & Cranberry Facial Scrub

The facial scrub has perfectly sized scrubbers that aren’t harsh at all yet exfoliate enough to where I feel refreshed after applying. I’m currently out of exfoliating scrubs, so this could easily be my next purchase along with the vitamin C serum.

Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry Facial Mask

The mask is incredible — it’s a bit scary looking, as it’s a dark green with little chunks of herbs — but the outcome is glowing, renewed skin. I’m not in desperate need of any new masks right now, but this could be a nice birthday gift in a few months. :)

Pangea Organics Himalayan Geranium & Pomegranate Balancing Oil

I also went home with a small sample of this oil. I’ve used the tester twice so far, and while it’s nice and lightweight, it’s not a definite need in my beauty vanity right now (because, ya know, I’m kind of an oil addict!).

But, if you need an oil, this one seems legit. It’s made with a combination of rose hip, argan, jojoba, tamanu, pomegranate, evening primrose, borage and geranium oils and has a very pleasant scent.

Acure Argan Oil

Like I said before, I’m not exactly in need of any more facial oils — especially the beloved argan oil that sits on my top shelf — but when I do run out, this will be the next one I scoop up. It’s an amazing pricepoint ($14.99!) and is 100% USDA-certified organic. Now that’s a steal.

Acure Seriously Firming Facial Serum

I tried a bit of this super serum while I was at Whole Foods. Again, it’s a mixture of a bunch of amazing oils (safflower, sesame seed, pumpkin seed, borage, argan, sweet orange, cranberry seed, Bulgarian lavender, olive and rosemary oils) that I’m not in need of right now thanks to my robust serum/oil collection.

However, I’m extremely drawn to this Acure Seriously Firming Facial Serum because 1) it’s certified-USDA organic; 2) it’s Fair Trade-certified; and 3) I got a rain check for the sale price of $17.24 at Whole Foods (shocker, they were out of stock!).

Acure Facial Mask

I got lucky and scored this facial mask after my analysis thanks to the fabulous Whole Foods sale on Acure products (got it for $11.99!). It’s a thick mask but has the perfect balance of moisturizing oils and pore-cleansing clays to both hydrate and cleanse your skin.
