Kelly Teegarden Organics’ natural deodorant has an amusing name β “Finally, Natural Deodorant That Seriously Works” β because, well, we’ve got a lot of fantastic choices now.
See, nearly a decade ago, when I started exploring the green beauty scene, effective natural deodorants were at unicorn status.
Now, as evidenced by my overly abundant list of approved-for-stinky-girls natural deodorant guide and today’s latest winner, I’m confident when I say this: In the armpit world, we’re starting to get a little spoiled.

{Kelly Teegarden Organics sent me a sample of its natural deodorant. It costs $11 for a 1.69-ounce stick.}
We’re spoiled by options for those of us who don’t mind pots of deodorant cream and those of us who prefer stick applicators.
We’re spoiled by options that smell of more than just lavender and tea tree, and options that don’t leave us with itchy rashes.
We’re spoiled by options that don’t break the budget and are easily accessible online and in stores.
Wow have we come a long way!
And wow, has Kelly Teegarden come a long way. For those of you unfamiliar, Kelly is a cancer survivor who has an incredibly powerful story.
Her line has grown beautifully over the years (I first interviewed her in 2012), and after being reintroduced to it recently, knew I had to give the natural deodorant a shot.
And I’m so happy I did, as I’ve added yet another fabulous deodorant β in stick form! β to my arsenal. Kelly’s natural deodorant held up without causing irritation, and the nourishing ingredients felt comfortable to slide onto my underarms every day.
Coconut oil, cocoa butter, argan oil and calendula combine with stink-fighting baking soda, tea tree oil and grapefruit for a pleasant, not-too-herbal smelling deodorant that’s both gentle and powerful.
Here’s the full ingredients list:
ORGANIC Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, ORGANIC Sodium Bicarbonate, ORGANIC Theobroma Cacao Seed (Cocoa) Butter, ORGANIC Cera Alba, ORGANIC Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, ORGANIC Zeya Mays (Corn) Starch, NON GMO Tocopherol, ORGANIC Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea Stem Cell) Callus Culture Extract, ORGANIC Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, ORGANIC Calendula Officinalis (Marigold Flower) Extract, ORGANIC Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed
In addition, this natural deodorant:
- Contains no endocrine disruptors
- Is formulated with no known cancer-causing ingredients
- Does not contain soy
- Is not vegan due to beeswax
- Is gluten-free
- Is PETA-certified
- Is Leaping Bunny-certified
As with any natural stick deodorant, it takes a little “heating up” against the skin to get a good, even slide when applying, but this natural deodorant never broke off into huge chunks or caked up like many ones in stick applicators that I’ve tried.
I’m thrilled to have another fabulous stick formula to recommend to those new to natural deodorants. I know that deodorant creams are not everyone’s jam, and when you’re new to clean beauty, that’s a big hump to get over!
So, thanks, Kelly, for finally getting us on to the next phase of natural deodorant standards: Formulas that hold up well in sticks!
