skin and bones luxurious moisturizer

One of my favorite things about the changing seasons is switching up my scents.

Though I have favorites that I’m drawn to regardless, some scents just work well with certain seasons and moods.

One special scent that I think works particularly well in crisp, fall weather is Skin and Bones’ signature scent, a mix of ylang ylang, rosewood, lemon, grapefruit, cedarwood, sandalwood, jasmine, myrrh and frankincense essential oils.

One of the best ways to enjoy this powerful scent is in the Skin and Bones Luxurious Moisturizer, a multipurpose hair, face and body oil.

(And of course you can make it last longer by layering it over the Luxurious Cleanser.)

{Skin and Bones sent me a sample of its luxurious moisturizer, a multipurpose hair, face and body oil. It retails for $76 for a 100 ml bottle.}

I can’t tell you how sexy, earthy yet fresh this scent is; as I sit here typing, wearing a bit of Skin and Bones’ salve on my hands (review on that soon), I can’t keep from stopping and sniffing my hands.

It’s that intoxicating.

Skin and Bones’ Luxurious Moisturizer feels dark, sexy and maybe a bit dangerous (in a good way!). How could something with such (seemingly) simple ingredients get me?

Let’s take a look:

Jojoba oil, ylang ylang, rosewood, lemon, grapefruit, cedarwood, sandalwood, jasmine, myrrh and frankincense essential oils.

I’m taking a wild guess that it has something to do with the combination of jasmine, frankincense and myrrh mixed with the woods (which aren’t my favorite on their own) and the citruses, which brighten everything up just a bit.

Now, I will say that at $76 for a 100 ml bottle, Skin and Bones Luxurious Moisturizer is expensive — especially given it’s just a base of good ol’ jojoba oil.

But, it’s packaged in beautiful, protective Miron glass, and I can tell you that of all the body oils and various scents I’ve experienced, I’ve never smelled something that smells like Skin and Bones.

I’m buying this again once it runs out (and when it’s empty, I’m ordering both this AND the Luxurious Cleanser — they are a beautiful duo).

It’s truly multipurpose; I’ve used it on my face at night, all over my body after a morning shower and in my hair.

I love it the most as a body oil, though, because of the gorgeous scent. I don’t wear a ton of perfume anymore (and am still discovering my favorite naturals), but Skin and Bones Luxurious Moisturizer keeps me soft and smell-good!

For the face, while it feels lovely and smells great, the scent can be overpowering — you’ll just have to see how you like it!
