While I’m trying to pare down the products in my bathroom, one area that will always be abundant is my shower — specifically, my body cleanser collection.

Though I lean toward body washes, I have developed a soft spot for beautiful soaps.

One line of soaps I’ve been loving lately is Sweet Leaf Bath Co., a Fair Trade-certified company based in Canada.

{Sweet Leaf Bath Co. sent me samples of three soaps to test and review. Each bar costs $6.75 for a 4-ounce bar.}

Free from synthetic fragrances, dyes and additives, Sweet Leaf Bath Co. soaps have faint yet alluring scents and soft coloring.

I opted for three very distinct soaps for testing: classic Oatmeal Honey; stimulating Chocolate Peppermint; and always-trendy Cosmo.

Each of these soaps produced a rich lather thanks to 1) my trusty loofah and 2) saponified oils, and none of the soaps were overly smelly — which is a good or bad thing depending on your preference for soap scents.

If you’re into highly fragranced soaps, these aren’t your best bet; if you like a soft, gentle fragrance in your soap, these are perfect!

Below are my thoughts on each.

Sweet Leaf Bath Co. Oatmeal Honey Soap

Soothing oatmeal and honey is always a good call.

I was drawn to this soap in particular, though, because of the cool honeycomb-like pattern on the top of the bar.

The texture offered a bit of exfoliation during the first few weeks of use (and then of course, it erodes into a smooth texture). I like that oatmeal and honey are relatively neutral, soft scents anyway, so this is a wonderful unisex soap that makes for easy gifting or the guest bathroom.

Here’s the full ingredients list:

Water, Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut and Organic Palm, Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Sunflower Oil, Organic Honey, Organic Goat Milk, Organic Oatmeal, Vegetable Steric Acid

Sweet Leaf Bath Co. Chocolate Peppermint Soap

Sweet Leaf Bath Co’s Chocolate Peppermint Soap was my favorite of the three I sampled.

I favor peppermint body washes for morning time, and I’m a huge fan of cocoa-infused body oils layered atop my skin post-shower.

So, you can see why combining chocolate and peppermint in one appeals to me!

I will stress, though, that like the other Sweet Leaf Bath Co. soaps I tested, the scent isn’t strong at all. It’s faint allows for layering and mixing.

What’s nice about this, especially with peppermint, is that you lower the risk of irritation from too many essential oils getting all up in your business.

Here’s the full ingredients list:

Water, Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut and Organic Palm, Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter, Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Powder, Essential Oil of Peppermint

Sweet Leaf Bath Co. Cosmo Soap

As a “Carrie” (aren’t we all?), I couldn’t pass up trying the Sweet Leaf Bath Co. Cosmo soap. How cute is this?

What’s funny, though, is the Cosmo soap is meant to “nourish and detoxify” the body. No Cosmo I’ve ever had has done this! :)

I think, though, that this nourishment and detoxification is stemming more from the mix of clays, cranberry, lime and sweet orange in this soap.

Despite the trendy name, I’d say that the Cosmo soap is an easy staple thanks to the familiar scents and pretty pink coloring.

Here’s the full ingredients list:

Water, Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut and Organic Palm, Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter, Iron Oxide, White Clay, Cranberry Seeds, Essential Oils of Lime & Sweet Orange
