Friday night’s eighth-annual Fashion for a Cause charity fashion event, hosted by the always-in-style Carson Kressley of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” fame, couldn’t have come together without the contributions of several local hairstylists and makeup artists who put their creativity to work on models of all ages, shapes and sizes.

{Upon walking into the dressing area backstage, I was welcomed by racks of clothes, a table of accessories and models scurrying about, getting last-minute fittings and pinnings.}

{Makeup artist Latrese Kabuya adds bright red to jazz artist Angela Hagenbach’s lips. Angela walked in the show as a “Kansas City Stylemaker” for local shop Alaskan Fur.}

{This model’s eyes got major liner and shimmering color to accent the gorgeous pattern in her dress.}

{This simple wrap-around pony is easy to wear yet adds a little bit of visual interest to your standard ‘do.}
Cheers to the hair gods and goddesses from Skyline Salon, Shelby Herrick Salon and Bijn Salon for their beautiful works of hair art!
Makeup artists Shannon Clapp, Latrese Kabuya, Christa Martin, Mary Traxler and Toya Wroten killed it in the makeup department, too.
