natural beauty buff | pamela jones, pemberley jones

People think I’m weird when I tell them how many “Internet friends” I have thanks to green beauty blogging.

They think it’s even stranger when I tell them I’ve done Google Hangouts on Sundays in my jammies with said “Internet friends.”

To these people, I tweet say, “If your ‘Internet friends’ were half as smart / beautiful / artistic / driven as mine, you’d be protective of your Internet friends, too.”

But today’s natural beauty buff is more than an Internet friend to me (we met in person at last year’s A Night For Green Beauty Event!).

She’s a talented entrepreneur with a knack for design and an eye for the best green beauty products that won’t break the bank.

She’s also a fellow cat lady, which means she gets 54,736 extra points in my book.

Obviously, I’m talking about blogger-turned-businesswoman Pamela Jones of Pemberley Jones.

Pamela, fond of alliteration, is based out of Pennsylvania (see, wasn’t joking about the alliteration), yet can easily be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

But be careful; it’s easy to become addicted to her witty updates and stunningly beautiful photographs — which will then lead you to want to buy everything she mentions on her social networks.

Speaking of, Pamela is sharing her top picks today.

I know she has a whole room full of beauty products for the store, but the items she mentions below are her staples.

It’s refreshing to see a nice mix of affordable and luxury green beauty products in her selection.

That are, of course, available in her online green beauty boutique.

See, told ya the woman was a savvy entrepreneur!

As usual, I’ve starred the items I also use and love.

“As far as where I keep these products, the answer is ‘all over my house.’ I’m constantly photographing them, so they end up in the oddest places, and rarely in the place that I need them. Such is the life of the beauty blogger though, right?!”

Aller-7 Support, or Freeze Dried Nettles for Allergies

“I’ve suffered with seasonal allergies for 20+ years, but I was finally able to leave the roller coaster of traditional antihistamines and decongestants behind when I found out about freeze-dried nettles for treating allergies naturally. The tablets I take are a mix of nettles and other anti-inflammatory goodness (quercetin, bromelain, turmeric, ginger, etc), and using them is one of the biggest health wins I’ve had in years!”

“They work, but they won’t leave you exhausted like OTC antihistamines nor do they make you hyper like decongestants, which by the way, I no longer need! The product I use is only available at my local health store, but identical products are available online.”

Weleda Body Lotions

“Wild Rose is my current favorite, but I keep these by my bed and sometimes even apply them just for the scent. They’re so dreamy. From the luscious smells to the ease of application, these thin but creamy lotions are addictive, and they last a long time. No stickiness, just hydration and good smells!”

Kahina Giving Beauty Eye Serum

“I joke that I started my store just to have lifetime access to this serum. Is it a joke? Maybe not. Kahina’s Eye Serum has softened fine lines and restored some elasticity to my under eye area. I have almost every one of my friends and family members hooked on it! While to some it may seem pricey, you need so little of it that it lasts a very long time. A bottle will last me almost six months while using it twice a day.”

Osmia Organics Rose Clay Face Cleansing Soap

“My skin feels so nice after I use this soap! It’s gentle and non-drying, but sudsy so it’s great for removing makeup at the end of the day. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and toned and ready for whatever serum or oil I happen to be testing. All this while smelling like roses? It’s the best! I like to chop it into smaller cubes so it doesn’t melt in the shower, this is another product that lasts me forever.”

*Osmia Organics Spot Treatment

“I normally have a pretty clear complexion, but the stress of starting your own business can change every aspect of your life, including your skin! I’ve been crushing hard on this little spot treatment; I’m so grateful that I found it. In most cases it reduces inflammation very quickly, and spots are gone altogether in a few days.”

*Benecos Mascara

“I have three issues that complicate my mascara needs: Allergies, contacts and delicate under eye skin. The first two mean lots of rubbing at my eyes, the last begs for less rubbing at my eyes. I need a mascara that won’t budge with normal wear, but also won’t require too much effort to remove. What’s more, since I work from home, I don’t wear mascara every day, so spending a lot of money on a tube that dries out in a month doesn’t work for me either! Oh, and I want dark lashes and great volume”

“Sounds like too much to ask, right? I found all of these things in this mascara. I love it! Getting used to the wetness of formula takes a few applications, but it’s worth the effort!”

DIY Cream Shadows: Weleda Skin Food + *Alima Pure’s Luminous Shimmer Shadows (shown in Milan)

“I love making my own cream shadows by mixing a dab of Skin Food with Alima’s pretty shadows. I like the versatility of using this method. When you buy cream shadows, they don’t always stay put. This gives you the ability to get the look of a cream shadow, but tap a little of the powdered shadow on top to help set it. I find it gives the richest and longest lasting color results.

Pure eye candy! It’s all true. #pemjo’s photos induce spending – at least I feel like I’m making quality purchases that will go a long way. Pam’s picks are perfect (that penchant for alliteration is pleasing). Great post, lovely ladies. Can’t wait for a live hangout some time soon. xo
