Welcome to week two of the Ross Dress for Less Fall Trend Hunter Challenge!
To refresh from last week:
Ross Dress for Less chose five bloggers across the nation to participate in its Fall Trend Hunter Challenge — I’m the only beauty blogger!
We were each given gift cards to complete three looks based on some of fall’s hottest trends. Each outfit costs $100 or less for the complete, head-to-toe look including shoes and accessories!
(Three outfits = $300 total in gift cards courtesy of Ross Dress for Less — thank you!)
I’d love your support during this campaign — please pop over to the Ross Dress for Less Facebook page at 9 a.m. Pacific / 11 a.m. Central to see all the looks and vote for your favorite one (ahem); you’ll be entered to win $100 Ross Dress for Less gift cards of your own (three winners each week)!
Our second challenge: Leather Details
This has to be my favorite look of all three challenges. It’s where my pixie cut really shines (hello, faux hawk) and I embrace that inner badass diva I aspire to be. The hair + leather accents help, no?
All Photos by the Teacher Man — thanks for your patience and support, babe.
Want to know how much this Ross Dress for Less “leather details” look costs? Here’s the breakdown:
Grand Total (without tax): $93.96
For my green beauties out there, I used Aveda Control Paste (as well as rat-tooth comb, blow dryer and about 15 minutes of styling time) to faux-hawk my hair.
I’d like more recommendations on cleaner pastes to use that won’t weigh down my baby-fine hair! Too much oil = limp faux hawk.
On my lips, I’m wearing a tiny blot of Jane Iredale PureMoist Lipstick in “Margi” blended with a heavier layer of Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in “Buff” for a pinky-nude pout.
What do you think of this look? How would you put together a $100-or-less “leather details” look from Ross Dress for Less? Tell me what you like in the comments section!
