osmia organics facial calibrations serum

Though spring is officially here, I’m walking around on a crunchy salt and snow mix in Kansas City.

With the strange weather patterns — sunny, rainy, snowy, windy — my skin reacts by under- and over-producing oil to try to keep itself in check.

It’s times like these that my skin needs a little recalibration.

There’s a serum for that!

I’ve been using Osmia Organics skincare products in my regular rotation for a few months now (see my reviews here, here and here).

I reach for the Facial Calibration Serum during wacky weather because it packs just the right amount of thick moisture in a dewy oil that leaves my skin quenched and soothed.

{Osmia Organics founder Sarah Villafranco sent me a sample of her Facial Calibration Serum for review. It retails for $50 for a 0.5 ounce glass pump bottle.}

Osmia Organics’ Facial Calibration Serum has a pretty, deep yellow coloring to it in the bottle, but is of course colorless and somewhat odorless on your skin. It has a faint smell of rosemary coupled with delicate rosehips; it’s not quite floral, yet not full-on herbal. It just smells clean!

Here’s the full ingredients list:

Fractionated coconut oil, olive squalane, kukui oil, organic safflower oil, organic macadamia nut oil, organic rosehip seed oil, organic grapeseed oil, shea oil, schisandra fruit CO2, acai oil, organic black seed oil, organic rosemary CO2 extract, GMO-free vitamin E oil, proprietary blend of organic and wild-harvested essential oils

This generous blend of nourishing oils — coconut, safflower, macadamia nut, rosehip seed, grapeseed, acai, black seed, vitamin E — make for a super-potent serum that requires just a half-pump to cover your face and a full pump to spread the goodness down your neck.

Because it’s a thicker oil (see amazing ingredients above), you really want to take some time massaging this into your skin and allowing your skin to benefit from the layer of protective oils.

While it sinks in well, I recommend waiting a bit before applying makeup. You will most likely find that you just need a little spot coverage because your skin will have this luminosity about it that you will want to show off!

I also love this Osmia Organics Facial Calibration Serum as a nighttime beauty oil. It’s so rich that I can only imagine how this amazing combination of oils is feeding my skin while I slumber. I can see and feel, though, how my skin is when I wake in the morning: with that same pretty glow I had before I went to bed.

  • Ahh we’re stuck with chilly weather, too – these random snow storms are totally killing my Spring break mood!

    I usually stick to my same Estee Lauder moisturizer in the cold, but since my skin has been extra-dry lately, I think I may have to switch it up to something more rich like this!

    Hope you have a great weekend :)
