favorite styles from kansas city fashion week night two | kansas city fashion week spring 2013 | kansas city, missouri

For night two of Kansas City Fashion Week, the organization partnered with Miss Kansas Teen USA Aly Klinzing (who is also a KCFW model) and her charity of choice, CureSearch.

This partnership allows CureSearch to further their efforts raising awareness and funds for clinical trials to research children’s cancer at hospitals nationwide.

{Kansas City Fashion Week and Miss Kansas Teen USA Aly Klinzing partnered to support Warriors for Ross, a local team for CureSearch Walk.}

Kansas City Fashion Week donated $5 of every ticket sold for Friday night’s Red Carpet Event to CureSearch.

Friday night’s show sold out. Standing room tickets were available, and 28 Event Space was packed! Great job, KC!

Friday night’s charity event show featured designs from House of Cochon, Trajet Jewelry, Emma Lammers, Blue Bird Apparel, I Design With Love, Pink Sheep Heiress, Janie G. Couture and Christian Micheal.

Every designer hailed from the KC-area except for Blue Bird Apparel, I Design With Love and Pink Sheep Heiress, which are all from the St. Louis area, and Janie G. Couture, of Denver, Colorado.

Below are my favorite looks from Friday night’s show.

kansas city fashion week house of cochon jewelry

{If you’re going to wear baubles, make a big statement! That’s the takeaway I had from House of Cochon’s show.}

trajet jewelry kansas city fashion week

{I liked how these jewels from Trajet Jewelry were concentrated up top and then flowed effortlessly toward the bottom.}

emma lammers kansas city fashion week

{Emma Lammers’ line needs to find a new home: My closet. The clean lines of her coats and the fantastic styling with oversize bags and booties had me craving September once more.}

blue bird apparel kansas city fashion week

{Blue Bird Apparel stuck with a simple black and metallic color scheme, but what impressed me about this collection was the smart styling — and use of props in the show. This particular party dress was my favorite; who doesn’t love a deep neck and some sheer fabric paired with a touch of tough leather?}

i design with love kansas city fashion week

{For I Design With Love’s finale, designer Amanda Clark sent this exciting tangerine and black number down the runway. The way that dress moved — and the way it turned heads inside 28 Event Space — made it a 10 in my book.}

pink sheep heiress kansas city fashion week

{The rock/glam designers who show at Kansas City Fashion Week inspire me so much. Pink Sheep Heiress’ line showed how to channel that rock diva look into a well-edited, tasteful collection that made even girly girls like me ready to don spikes … and maybe even show a little midriff.}

janie g couture kansas city fashion week

{Kudos to Janie G Couture for showing a well-balanced collection of beautiful men’s and women’s clothing. I favored the men’s looks — she sent down California cool styles, like this bird-donned, lightweight button-down styled with rolled pants and boat shoes.}

christian micheal kansas city fashion week

{To close the show, local favorite menswear designer Christian Micheal taught men how to be dapper, not drab. Tailored coats and timeless plaids anchored his collection. Here’s to hoping pieces like this red jacket gets men to think outside of the black/brown/gray box and experiment with color and cut.}
