I’m still coming off the Kansas City Fashion Week high.

And though all the glorious clothing made by our talented, local designers have me in awe, as your beauty girl, I’m also still thinking about the gorgeous look featured during Friday night’s Red Carpet Runway Showcase Benefitting Wayside Waifs.

Here are the looks that caught my eye as I roamed around backstage before the show.

Can we say “va va VOOM!”

I love the height of her hair, and while this vampy look is extremely bold (read: I can’t get away with this), I admired the way this look brought out the model’s striking features. I would definitely like to try that extreme-smoky eye.

Her hair is making a major statement here. I like how the makeup is very subtle and almost citrusy, with its sherbert colors, and it really lets your eyes focus on the gorgeous curls in the model’s hair. It looks glossy, thick and voluminous. Jealous.

I loved seeing some funky updos, incorporating the on-trend milkmaid style with a tailored twist instead of a braid. Can someone please teach me how to do this?

I was drawn to these two models’ look, albeit different styles, because of the way the eyes were accentuated. For the model on the left, we have this tough, biker chic look with delicate crystals on the lids that look completely badass. How can crystals look so tough?

For the model on the right, I appreciate the exaggerated cat eye coupled with the thick, lush lashes and defined brows. A+ for both looks.

I can’t get enough of this whimsical, artsy eyeliner trend. I haven’t braved it myself just yet, but these two models’ makeup are inspiring me to take the leap. It’s less of a commitment then, oh, getting a tattoo, and it allows you to have fun with your makeup. Because really, isn’t that what it’s all about?
