Even though I’m in my later-20s, I still have to deal with pesky breakouts that tend to pop up during the most opportune times (weddings, photo shoots, date nights).

While I have a secret weapon for blemishes, I do enjoy giving myself a spa-like treatment to help treat and prevent pimples. One of my favorite masks (as mentioned on The Clean Beauty Blog) is Eminence’s Clear Skin Probiotic Masque.

Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Masque uses several amazing key ingredients to moisturize, tone, clean and refresh troubled skin. When you spread it onto your face, you’ll notice how your skin is immediately cooled, thanks to tea tree oil (miracle worker, I tell you!), yogurt and cucumber.

The masque also contains kaolin clay, a classic mask ingredient that is designed to naturally extract gunk from pores and deep clean your skin. Shea butter, marigold and stone crop round out the ingredients list, providing extreme hydration to your stressed skin.

I use this mask as both a pimple preventative (read: one week before my period) and a pimple treater (read: hell week) to keep my skin calm and under control as much as possible. Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Masque is part of a larger clear skin system that also includes vitamins (tried and loved — on my wish list!), a cleanser and a moisturizer.

If you’re thinking about going on Proactiv to control your breakouts, but wish it were a bit more gentle, I’d strongly encourage you to consider Eminence’s solution to clear skin. Though I’ve only tried two of the four products offered, I’ve had such great success with them that I would feel bad if I kept you out of the loop!

What’s your natural defense against acne? Do you have a tried-and-true solution to keeping breakouts at bay? Tell me your zit-zapping tips in the comments section!

Note: If you’re in the Kansas City-area, you can find Eminence products at two of my favorite salon/spas: Sonrisa Salon and Spa and Roca Salon and Spa.
