While I’m more of a lip gloss girl, I’ve become partial to this sort of hybrid lipstick/lip gloss from natural newcomer Mia Mariu.

Aptly named “hydrating stick glosses,” Mia Mariu’s line of tubular lip colors offer a one-two punch: big color payoff and moisture to the max.

Mia Mariu sent me a few samples of its Hydrating Stick Glosses to review, and I’ve been using “Encanto” as my go-to red lipstick/lipgloss this summer. It’s a beautiful, red-orange that can provide just a wash of color with one swipe on, or a more-dramatic fiery red with two or three swipes.

It’s got a bit of shine to it, and the smell is lovely. True to its name, the Mia Mariu Hydrating Stick Gloss provides a buttery, soft feel to your lips — no lip balm necessary! We can thank vitamins A, C and E for that extra boost of hydration.

Here’s how Encanto looks on my medium/olive skin after two-three swipes:
