outfit post | championing chambray

While I’m not a huge fan of button-downs, I decided to add this classic American piece to my wardrobe earlier this spring when I saw how truly versatile light denim can be.

(Thanks to these lovelies here, here, here, here and here for inspiration on how to champion a chambray shirt.)

The first time I wore this top, I paired it with black skinny pants and high heels for a tailored look.

For this outfit, shot by my lovely new photographer friend Denene Brox, I paired the top with lace black shorts and sequined oxfords for a masculine-meets-feminine look.

I’ve been eyeing a shirt like this recently but was wondering if it was considered “in fashion.” Apparently so! I’ll have to get it then. I’ll probably be simple and wear mine with black skinny jeans and a coral necklace. although I’ve got a cute coral/peach skirt that it would look good with, too. (I kind of like coral…)
