If you’re like me, you may have come back from the long holiday weekend with a bit of flush to your face.

I spent some time at the lake with my best friend Liz, and I got a bit too much sun (so much for reapplying sunscreen!). While I’m not burnt to a crisp, my face is a bit pinker than normal, and I’m being careful to keep it from drying out by changing up my regular beauty routine.

First thing I updated was my face wash. I usually use a mild, soap-free cleanser, but to give my face a little added moisture, I’ve been using Eminence Coconut Milk Cleanser in the morning and evening.

Eminence sent me a sample of its Sun Care Starter Set, which includes five small sample sizes of warm-weather products. I have a few favorites from this kit that I’m considering buying the full size, including the cleanser.

I like this cleanser because it almost feels like lotion as your massage it into your damp skin. It’s got a fresh, tropical coconut scent (made from real coconut milk, which helps moisturize, as well as coconut oil, a protecting antioxidant), and it also boasts soothing calendula — just what sensitive, sunned skin needs for a little pick-me-up.

Here’s the full ingredients list:

Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Milk, Corn Germ Oil, Natural Cream Base, Marigold/Calendula Oil, Glycerine, Natural Moisturizing Factor, Glycine Derivative, Biocomplex (Vitamin Q, Ester C, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid), Coconut Essential Oil, Xanthan Gum, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officianlis) Extract, Salicylic Acid.

This is a great summertime cleanser thanks to the healing coconut milk (and that summertime coconut smell that most of us love!) and calendula oil.

I’m not sure if I’m sold on it for year-round use (the pricepoint of $36 is a bit too much for me for something I’m not totally crazy about), but I’d say it’s a nice summertime cleansing treat that could surely last the duration of summer before it’s time to transition to fall skincare.

    Nice post!:)

As an esthetician I always tell everyone try to avoid sun as much as possible, but if you go to the beach, then exfoliate your skin first so you can get rid of you dead skins, then apply a broad spectrum sunscreen (like Badger Balm SPF 30) 15 mins at least before being exposed.

Use Yellow sweetclover (yellow melilot)- it has anti-inflammatory properties, Marigold and yarrow extract protects the sensitive skin, the tomato, carrot juice and the extract of sea buckthorn oil complete the pigments (melanin) protective effects, Cocoa butter, jojoba oil and sesame oil are nourishing and protect the skin.

For healing: make a tee from 3 bags of black tee. When it’s cooled down, dunk a towel into the tea and dab it onto the sunburn. Repeat it many times.
