sunday riley juno transformative lipid serum

I’m all about beauty oils. I have so many favorites that I like for different reasons, and I’ll be sharing them all with you in the coming weeks.

Today’s oil obsession goes to Sunday Riley. I’ve been using the Juno Transformative Lipid Serum since last winter, and it has earned a permanent spot on my top shelf.

Juno is a dry oil blend that is basically a smoothie for your face. Check out the incredible ingredients list:

  • acai oil
  • black cumin seed oil
  • blackberry seed oil
  • blueberry seed oil
  • broccoli seed oil
  • carrot seed oil
  • chardonnay grape seed oil
  • cranberry seed oil
  • marula oil
  • meadowfoam oil
  • pomegranate seed oil
  • red raspberry seed oil

This combination of oils delivers an impressive array of natural retinols, omegas 3, 6 and 9, vitamin C and UV protection (yeap, this bottle of oil has a natural SPF 8 in it!).

I like to mix this serum (it’s really oil — doesn’t have the tightening effect that most serums have) with a daily sunscreen. By doing this, I get both a powerhouse sun protection factor and a dewy, healthy glow. It only takes half a pump to get enough oil to cover my face without overloading it — you don’t want to look like an oil slick!

One thing that may turn some people off from Juno is the smell — it’s very “green.” A lot of my favorite oils are more floral or sweet, but Juno has a distinct grass and vegetable smell to me. It’s grown on me a lot, and because this oil delivers such a supreme, velvety feel to my skin, I have adapted to the interesting smell.
