Inspired by the bright colors of piñatas, on Saturday I sported my bright tangerine maxi dress (last seen here) and dressed it up with some bold accessories.

I wore this outfit to my friend Tabitha’s fiesta, where we feasted on homemade tortillas, spicy salsa, perfectly marinated beef and the strongest margaritas I’d had in a while.
Tabitha’s fiesta presented the perfect opportunity to wear my new Ember Skye bag. This royal blue Chantel bag commands such attention that I originally thought I’d pair it with a very neutral, understated outfit to let the bag pop.
However, for Cinco de Mayo, it just made sense to let all these colors play together. I tied the look together (literally!) with a patterned scarf that I’m excited to integrate into even more outfits.
Though my purse was the brightest part of my outfit, most people couldn’t help but comment on my new gold-sequined floppy hat. I had to give some sort of nod to the Kentucky Derby — and keep my face shielded from the hot, hot sun!
How was your weekend? What did you wear for Cinco de Mayo/Kentucky Derby day? Tell me (and link me your outfit posts!) in the comments section.
