Though I’ve been slowly putting away my heavy-duty winter clothing (not that they got much use this year, anyway), I’m finding smart ways to mix and match key cold-weather layering pieces with spring must-haves.
I’m obsessed with my orange maxi dress that I bought specifically for my trip to St. Lucia last December and have found a few different ways to style it that’s appropriate for deceptively sunny days. Here’s one of my favorite ways to winterize this closet staple:

I’ve worn this outfit with and without the chunky knit vest (on warmer days). I like being able to peel away layers as necessary, and I love the texture and dimension this vest adds to the ensemble.
Another way I punched up this outfit, which I usually wear with black flats, is by stealing Jess’ amazing orange snakeskin heels for the day. They were high and impractical but oh-so-gorgeous.

You can see a few additional shots of this outfit and more on my Facebook style album as well as the girlies album (a must-see if you want to peep Jess’ adorable puppy, Bear).
