this makes me happy: girls’ day snack spread

Jump to Comments

Sometimes it’s so hard to get together with some of my best girl friends — we’re all spread out across the KC-Lawrence metro area and are busy, busy, busy! Every month or so, though, we are able to get together for girl time, which entails updating everybody on our lives, laughing about the silly things that come out of our mouths and, of course, snacking!

I hosted Gina, Laura and Peyton on Sunday and was able to put together a decent snack spread on my humble coffee table (getting a real dining table this week thanks to the teacher man!). No, I didn’t make any of this myself, but I think I did a damn good job slicing, dicing and spicing everything so it was ready when the girls arrived.

macarons and strawberries

{I opted to serve macarons from Natasha's Mulberry and Mott in addition to fresh strawberries intsead of cupcakes — some of the ladies had never had a macaron before, so I wanted to make sure they had the best ones in KC to start!}

nuts meats cheese tomatoes

{We had a simple spread of soppressata with spicy mustard; fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with California pepper; and assorted nuts.}

Sometimes the best foods are tiny, bite-sized munchies. Not pictured in my girls’ day snack spread include simple white bean, tuna and red onion spread; crusty French baguette crostinis with olive oil; and pink lemonade.

What do you like to serve at informal get-togethers with friends?
